Smith: Copyright Pirates Experience the "Hulk"

Congressman Lamar Smith issued the following statement regarding the FBI’s “Hulk” online piracy case:

“Today is a victory in the fight against criminal pirates. I want to thank and congratulate the FBI and Justice Department for their prompt and aggressive action in the ‘Hulk’ online piracy case.

“The Judiciary Committee writes laws to protect movies, music and other creative works. We call for vigorous enforcement of those laws, and we value the unmistakable signal that this unprecedented prosecution sends to pirates and casual users alike.

“While ‘The Hulk’ is a comic book hero known to millions, copyright pirates practice their illegal trade in relative anonymity. Today the FBI brought the face of copyright piracy public, and for that they are to be commended.”
