Congressman Lamar Smith today voted for the FY 2003 Budget resolution.
We are a nation at war against terrorism, Congressman Smith said. This budget supplies the needed resources for continued success by providing the largest increase in 20 years for national defense.
Congressman Lamar Smith today announced Border to Border Communications Inc. in Kerrville will receive a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Internet service grant. The $400,000 USDA grant will be used to implement wireless local Internet access where it currently does not exist. Approximately 130 households and businesses will connect to the service.

The House of Representatives today overwhelmingly approved legislation to improve the Nations cyber security. H.R. 3394, the Cyber Security Research and Development Act, co-authored by Congressman Lamar Smith, passed the House by a vote of 400 to 12.
The event will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the USAA Auditorium at 9800 Fredericksburg Road in San Antonio.
